The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Monday called on China to stop its reclamation activities in the South China Sea.
During a press conference held before the start of the US-Philippines military exercises, chief-of-staff Gen. Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. stressed that China's aggressiveness has created tension among claimant countries over the disputed waterway.
"We call on China to stop the reclamation activities and to be mindful of its responsibilities as a claimant state and an important member of the international community," Catapang said.
Catapang showed new aerial photos of China's reclamation activities during the press conference.
The AFP chief also called for concrete actions to address China's reclamation activities in the said area.
