Vietnam, China agree to avoid use and threat of force

Vietnam and China reached a consensus on settling disputes by peaceful means, while the armies should closely monitor activities at sea to avoid the threat and use of force, and prevent clashes, Vietnamese Defence Minister told the press on the sidelines of the on-going 8th Vienam's National Assembly session.

PLP: Arbitration ruling on sea row with China may come early 2016

Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario on Thursday said the Netherlands-based arbitral tribunal may hand down a ruling on the Philippines' complaint against China’s massive claim in the disputed South China Sea by the first quarter of 2016.
