Guidelines for Submission to The East Sea Studies

The East Sea Studies welcomes original ideas, analyses, and reports on sea-related affairs ranging from maritime politics, security, law, economy and resources, and environment in all oceanic regions. We encourage interdisciplinary approach, bold thinking, and innovative ideas that go beyond the confines of national policy lines and institutional identities.
 
The East Sea Studies is seeking:

  • Commentaries, insights, and reviews on key events and major issues, which should range between 800 and 1.500 words.
  • Featured articles providing insights into historical and political background and in-depth analysis on relevant topics, with a length between 2.000 and 3.000 words.
  • Research-based papers and reports between 5.000 and 7.000 words.  

Manuscript preparation:
 
The title page should include:

  • Full title of manuscript;
  • A short abstract (3 to 5 lines) and keywords;
  • The authors’ names and affiliation;
  • A color figure (high-resolution, with permission granted from the copyright holder).

The main document should include:

  • Main titles for each section;
  • Body of manuscript (Word file, formatted in size 12 Times New Roman font, 1.5 spacing);
  • References in form of hyperlinks and footnotes in Chicago style;
  • A short biography at the end of your work;
  • Grand and other acknowledgements.

All submitted works must be exclusive to the East Sea Studies due to possible copyright and legal restrictions.
