Becoming a participant of the Young Leaders Program of the 13th South China Sea International Conference means you will be part of a network of scholars who are eager to contribute their thoughts for promoting peace, cooperation and development in the South China Sea and the broader region called Indo-Pacific. You will have the unique chance of interacting with thought leaders of the region and globally, who meet at the Conference once a year to share their latest findings and thoughts on matters of importance to the well-being of the region.

What are we looking for in the potential members?
We are looking for exceptional individuals with enthusiasm, ideas and commitment to working out practical solutions for promoting a peaceful and cooperative South China Sea.
You should have a good knowledge about policy and policymaking.
You should be willing to engage with the Young Leaders Program 2021 network in the long-term.
Young leaders are expected to participate in as many of the eight Sessions of the Conference on Day 1 and Day 2 as possible, with specific tasks. At the end of each day, a webinar session will be hosted by the organizers to discuss the outcome of the day. The young leaders will have an opportunity to present their thoughts on the discussions of the conference, and provide their own input to the discussions.
After the webinar, each participant will submit a short paper to reflect on the whole Conference and provide their own suggestions and recommendations on the topic of their choice. Only those who submit papers would obtain Certificates of Attendance and be qualified for the possible awards, which would be conferred to the best papers submitted.
